From the inside out

Hair, skin and beauty

Hair thinning, persistent acne and skin that changed without warning are usually signals rather than isolated problems. Thyroid function, iron and nutrient status, hormones, blood sugar and inflammation all show up in hair and skin, often before they show up anywhere you would think to look.

Overview

How care works here

Everyone starts the same way: a 99 dollar consult that runs a full 60 minutes, by video, with Brittney Diffiné, PA-C. That visit is history and questions. Testing is ordered afterward so the panel is chosen for your situation rather than run in advance and interpreted later.

From there you get a plan you can read and understand, with the reasoning behind it, and scheduled follow up so it is adjusted on results rather than left running.

Who this is for

This may be a fit if

  • Hair thinning or shedding, including postpartum and stress related
  • Adult acne, or acne that tracks with your cycle
  • Skin changes, dullness or dryness that appeared without an obvious cause
  • Anyone who has worked through topical products without lasting change
  • People who suspect hormones, thyroid or nutrient status are involved

What is included

In your program

  • A 60 minute first visit

Timeline of the change, medical and family history, medications, diet and stress, with the clinician who will treat you.

  • Testing chosen for you

Thyroid, iron and ferritin, vitamin D, zinc, B vitamins and hormones where the history points that way.

  • The underlying driver, named

A clear statement of what the evaluation suggests is going on, including when the answer is that something needs a dermatologist instead.

  • A treatment plan

Nutrition, supplements, hormone support or prescriptions matched to the finding, with a realistic timeline.

  • Realistic expectations

Hair grows on its own schedule. You will be told what that schedule looks like before you start rather than after.

  • Follow up

Scheduled review and retesting to confirm the plan is working.

What to expect

Common timelines

4 to 8 weeks
Skin inflammation and breakouts commonly respond first.
3 to 6 months
Shedding typically slows before any new growth is visible.
6 to 12 months
Density and texture change, which is simply how hair grows.

Questions

Before you book

Why would hair loss be a hormone or thyroid problem?

Because it often is. Thyroid dysfunction, low iron stores, postpartum hormone shifts, and androgen patterns all cause hair loss, and each is treatable once identified. Testing tells you which one you are dealing with instead of guessing.

Is this a substitute for a dermatologist?

No, and it is not trying to be. Some conditions need a dermatologist and some need a scalp biopsy. This is the internal side of the picture, and part of the job is telling you when you need the other kind of care.

How long before I see anything?

Skin often responds within a couple of months. Hair is slower, because the growth cycle is slow. Shedding usually settles before new growth shows, and visible density change is a matter of months rather than weeks.

Do you sell products?

There is a supplement dispensary, and supplements are recommended when testing supports them. Nothing is recommended because it happens to be stocked.
