Hormone care for women and men

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy

Hormone therapy is a clinical decision, not a product. Care here starts by working out what is actually driving your symptoms, which is not always a hormone at all, then builds a plan from your labs, your history and your risk picture. If therapy is appropriate, it is prescribed at a considered dose and reviewed on a schedule.

Overview

How care works here

Everyone starts the same way: a 99 dollar consult that runs a full 60 minutes, by video, with Brittney Diffiné, PA-C. That visit is history and questions. Testing is ordered afterward so the panel is chosen for your situation rather than run in advance and interpreted later.

From there you get a plan you can read and understand, with the reasoning behind it, and scheduled follow up so it is adjusted on results rather than left running.

Who this is for

This may be a fit if

  • Fatigue, low energy, or sleep that stopped working
  • Weight changes, mood shifts, or brain fog
  • Low libido
  • Irregular, heavy or painful cycles
  • Perimenopause and menopause symptoms
  • Men with symptoms of declining hormone levels who want a full evaluation first

What is included

In your program

  • A 60 minute first visit

A detailed look at symptoms, history, family history and goals before any therapy is considered.

  • Testing chosen for you

Hormone and related markers selected from your consult rather than a standard panel.

  • An individualized plan

If therapy is appropriate, the form, dose and schedule are chosen for your labs and your risk picture, and the reasoning is explained to you.

  • Risks and alternatives, in plain terms

What the evidence supports, what it does not, what the alternatives are, and what is still uncertain.

  • Scheduled review

Follow up labs and visits at set intervals to see how you are responding and adjust.

  • The foundations underneath

Sleep, nutrition, training, stress and thyroid function, which often account for a meaningful share of the symptoms.

What to expect

Common timelines

2 to 4 weeks
Mood, energy and sleep are often the earliest changes.
6 to 12 weeks
Libido, cycle patterns and body composition.
12 weeks and beyond
Longer term markers reviewed at follow up.

Questions

Before you book

What does bioidentical actually mean?

It describes hormones whose molecular structure matches the ones the human body produces. It is a statement about chemistry. It is not a claim that the therapy is safer, more natural or better tolerated than other hormone therapy, and you should be skeptical of anyone who tells you otherwise. What matters clinically is the right hormone, at the right dose, for the right person, with follow up.

Are compounded hormones the same as commercially manufactured ones?

No. Compounded preparations are made by a compounding pharmacy and are not FDA approved, which means they have not been through the same review for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing consistency. There are situations where a compounded preparation is the right choice and situations where an FDA approved product is. Which one is appropriate for you is part of the consult.

How do you decide whether therapy is appropriate?

From your symptoms, your lab work, your medical and family history, and the risks that apply specifically to you. Some people are better served by treating a thyroid problem, a sleep problem or a nutritional gap first. Hormone therapy is offered when the evaluation supports it, not by default.

What are the risks?

Hormone therapy carries risks that vary by hormone, by route, by dose and by the person taking it, and they are discussed with you individually rather than summarized on a website. Ongoing monitoring is part of the plan for that reason.

Do I need labs before I book?

No. Book the consult first and bring any recent results you have. Testing is ordered afterward so the panel fits your situation.
